Biography

Kimberly McKinnish serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA). NBWA is the advocacy organization representing America’s more than 3,000 independent beer distributors working to strengthen the three-tier system of beer distribution and state-based alcohol regulation. As NBWA COO, McKinnish is responsible for setting financial policy and direction, managing and coordinating the association’s day-to-day financial operations, and is a member of the executive team. McKinnish also is responsible for human resources and information technology and assists with membership services.

McKinnish is passionate about cultivating emerging leaders, and inspiring and developing women in the beer industry She acts in the lead role with the NBWA Next Generation of Leaders Group, the Beer Growth Initiative and NBWA’s Beer First campaign, and the Building Relationships and Empowering Women (BREW) initiative advancing the association’s member-focused agenda.

Prior to joining NBWA in 2009, McKinnish spent 20 years working with and for two Anheuser-Busch beverage distributors in the Washington, DC area. As Vice President & CFO, she functioned as co-COO with direct management of finance, human resources, IT, administration and sales support, marketing, media, and special events. McKinnish has applied her significant distributor experience to her role at NBWA.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. And has had the privilege of serving on many boards and in various capacities with several local and national charity and community-based organizations.

Most recently, Lisbeth was the VP of Commercial & Asset Management, and a member of the executive team for ENGIE Renewables North America. Lisbeth was a member of the Business for a Better World Center Advisory Board at GMU, and a recipient of the Class of 2022 Prominent Patriot Award. She is a member of the Women Renewable Industries & Sustainability and passionate about mentoring young professionals.

The United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) North America and ��AV’s Business for a Better World Center in the School of Business are excited to host the PRME North America Biennial Meeting April 21-23 in Arlington, Virginia, USA, just outside Washington, D.C. Our theme for the meeting is Building a Better Future Together.

The meeting will include sessions focused on how we can work together effectively as an organization and how we can boost engagement across different elements of our communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. We will enjoy opportunities to discuss both research activities and teaching and learning innovations. We will further share examples of partnerships to effect change and approaches to communicating the impact we are having to different audiences.

Planned sessions include a workshop for junior scholars, unveiling of curricular materials for integrating sustainability across disciplines, teaching, research, and changemaking sessions, poster presentation sessions, and working sessions on priorities and initiatives for the future of PRME NA.

Senior Investment Director, Center for Innovative Technology (CIT)

Biography

Marco Rubin is responsible for sourcing, diligence, and closing of seed and early stage investments on behalf of the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) GAP Funds designated as "Virginia's Most Active Investor" by CBInsights. He serves as a board representative to a numerous portfolio companies and leads seed/early stage investment in energy in his role as senior investment director. Marco also serves on the National Venture Capital Association’s Climate and Sustainability Working Group.

Marco has held leadership roles with funds recognized on five occasions by Entrepreneur Magazine’s VC 100 rankings and has invested in over 250 early stage startups throughout his career. He leads equity investments in aerospace, energy and software for the CIT.

Prior to CIT, Marco founded Exoventure Associates, LLC (“Exo”). There he conducted diligence, mentored entrepreneurs and served as a judge in global business plan competitions sponsored by the World Bank and the State Department in former CIS countries.

Prior to Exo, he was founder of Monumental Venture Partners, LLC (MVP) making investments in security, information technology, telecommunications, software and medical devices sectors. MVP produced acquisitions of portfolio companies to Dolby Labs and Level 3 Communications. Before MVP, Marco launched New Ventures, MCI’s venture capital unit. Prior to MCI, he served Fortune 500, Federal and emerging market clients while with Booz Allen & Hamilton.

He began his career as an engineer at the Johnson Space Center training astronauts and flight controllers. Marco holds an MBA from The George Washington University and a BSEE from the University of New Mexico. He has been a National Science Foundation (NSF) commercial reviewer since 2007 as well as a former NSF SBIR grant winner.

Jeff Foote has more than 35 years of experience in environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy, goal setting, measurement and reporting, program development and consulting. Areas of expertise include assessing ESG risks and opportunities; developing brand social purpose; B-Corp Impact Assessments; circular economy; clean-technology; deforestation; energy efficiency; litter abatement; sustainable refrigeration; venture capital investments; and water stewardship.

Today, he serves as President of Footeprints Resourcefulness Consultants. Clients include BioSure North America; The Coca-Cola Company; Monster Energy; TreeZero Paper.

During his 20 years at The Coca-Cola Company, Foote was co-author of the company’s vending machine and cooler environmental policy – leading to phase-out of Hydrofluorocarbons (HFC); reduced energy use by 40-50%. Policy eliminated 75% of direct greenhouse gas emissions by transition to HFC-free insulation for new equipment. 5 million HFC-free coolers and vending machines have been introduced since the program began. He Developed $70 million Clean Tech Venture Capital Practice; developed training videos; delivered new employee training. Managed two career development, leadership and team work trainings for international associates to Antarctica. Provided sustainability consulting to 120 Coca-Cola customer teams and international customers ranging from Walmart, 7-Eleven; Burger King, Chick-fil-A to Starwood Hotels. Brand social purpose development: BioSure, Costa Coffee, Dasani water, Dogadan Tea, Monster Energy, TreeZero. Developed circular economy strategy; managed life cycle assessments and executed carbon neutrality strategy. Assisted with development of participation in Reducing Emission from Deforestation and Degradation REDD+ project managed by Wildlife Works. For the past 8 years Jeff has curated a weekly newsletter on sustainability.

Nicole Washington is a senior executive with twenty years of experience in policy development and strategic planning, systems design and implementation, and programming for government and other industries. Nicole currently serves as a member of the United Nations platform, AI for Good Summit Gender Braintrust. Nicole has extensive experience as a female entrepreneur. She is the Founder & CEO of Boralogix, Inc. a technology consulting firm. Nicole also founded Nicole’s Naturals® Inc., a manufacturing company that specialized in the development of gluten free grain products with the texture and taste of traditional gluten products.

Nicole was most recently the Director of Innovation & Growth and Senior Advisor for Community Engagement at Octane, one of the nation’s leading non-profit convening organizations that facilitates deal flow and visibility to organizations in the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem of Southern California. Biography

Prachi Vakharia lives and works in Washington DC in the Office of CTO of AES, a 33 Billion USD company with 10 Billion USD in annual revenues, where Prachi runs the Innovation and Investments of AES Next in new domains and technologies. Beyond AES, Prachi works on Autonomous Vehicles, V2X technologies, digital and shared mobility projects in DC, NY and LA. Previously, she worked with the WRI, World Bank and also mentors and invests in organizations and startup companies — 3 of those startups were acquired by Daimler AG (German auto maker of Mercedes Benz) for $100 million in a single deal on a single day. (One of the companies went from PowerPoint presentation to product design, launch, expansion and to acquisition in just 9 months!) Prachi invests in selected and advises many startup companies in USA, ranging from transportation, to energy, to computer vision, and more.

Prior to this, Prachi has worked in the Transportation Industry with World Bank, WRI-Embarq, Car2Go, myTaxi, RideScout, TransitLabs, and RideAmigos equipping her with a comprehensive understanding of V2V–V2I–V2X, BRTS, HSR, Urban Transport, Taxi and Shared Vehicles. Chris Preston, Vice President, Corporate Relations, United Way Worldwide brings a strong commitment to and understanding of United Way’s mission and work as he has been part of the United Way network for 19 years. Chris oversees the Global Corporate Leadership Program which consists of 95 corporate partners that raised a combined total of over $900 million for United Ways in communities around the globe and provides support to local United Ways in their overall fundraising efforts as part of the $4.7 billion United Way network.

Chris spent the first 11 years of his United Way career at United Way Worldwide with roles as National Sales Manager of the United Way Store and Corporate Relations Manager for the Global Corporate Leadership team. In addition to those roles, he was Resource Development liaison for United Way Worldwide’s Africa Region, convener for the Young Leaders Business Resource Group of United Way Worldwide’s Diversity & Inclusion Council, and Project Manager for the Network Engagement and Support Team Committee for United Way’s U.S. Task Force on Economic Model & Growth.

Prior to his return to United Way Worldwide, Chris served two local United Ways. First, as the Senior Vice President, Strategic and Regional Management at United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. In that role, Chris assumed Chief of Staff duties and was responsible for the management and execution of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey’s organizational strategies across the region. Chris also served as Vice President, Resource Development, at United Way of the National Capital Area in Washington, DC. In that role he led the development team in managing a $33 million annual fundraising effort.

Chris attended ��AV and has continued to support his alma mater where he has served as President of the University’s Alumni Association and is now a member of the ��AV Past Presidents Roundtable.

Biography

Paul Kyle is a former executive director of Helping Children Worldwide, Inc. Also, he was a co-owner and President of an Anheuser-Busch distributer, King Wholesale, spanning a career of 27 years. King Wholesale was a privately held wholesale beer distributor serving Fairfax, Arlington, and Loudoun Counties. The company was sold in November 2007. Prior to that, he was a Tax Partner for a local CPA firm. He has had the privilege of serving on many boards of local businesses and in various capacities with several local community-based organizations.

Mr. Kyle is a passionate fan of ��AV Athletics, serving on the Patriot Club Advisory Board since 1999, and serving as a Chair since 2006. He was the former Chair for the Board of Trustees and has served as a member of the Campaign Steering Committee. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Board of Mason Housing, Inc. Mr. Kyle and his wife, Connie Kyle, live in Fairfax, Virginia. They have three children and seven grandchildren. Connie, Patrick, and Bethany are graduates of ��AV.
