If you are looking to get involved with Mason and give back to students, the <a href="/current-students/career-services" title="Office of Career Services | ÑÇÖÞAV School of Business">Office of Career Services</a> has a number of opportunities for you to choose from:</span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <h4><span><span><span><span><span><span>Become a Mentor</span></span></span></span></span></span></h4> <p><span><span><span><span><span><span><a href="https://masonmentors.gmu.edu/page/mentors" target="_blank" title="Mason Mentors">Mason Mentors</a> and Mason MINDS (Mentoring Initiative for Need-based and Diverse Students)—a group specially designed to support accounting students of diverse backgrounds—both offer students the chance to build relationships with professionals who can offer insight into career related topics.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <h4><span><span><span><span><span><span>Support an Internship</span></span></span></span></span></span></h4> <p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Internships have become increasingly important as gateways to employment post-graduation. They are also crucial opportunities for students to learn about themselves, identify passions, and enhance career skills. However, often offered with low, or no pay, or in locations that require students to incur additional temporary living expenses, internships remain out of reach for many.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Created in partnership with the Business for a Better World Center, the </span></span><em><span><span>Internship Access Awards </span></span></em><span><span>are designed to help offset expenses while allowing our students to gain valuable work and industry experience. Made available through the generosity of alumni donors, Business for a Better World Center, Management Advisory Board, Fairfax County Economic Development Council, Women in Business Initiative and the Office of Career Services, $15,000 was awarded to 11 School of Business students in the summer of 2021.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Additionally, the <a href="/current-students/office-career-services/internship-academic-credit" title="Internship for Credit | ÑÇÖÞAV School of Business">Internship for Credit Class</a> is a 3-credit course designed to give students the opportunity to gain practical, professional experience in conjunction with their academic endeavors.
