That鈥檚 why transferring to George Mason through Virginia Guaranteed Admissions Agreements is one of the smartest decisions you can make in taking the next step toward a successful tomorrow.

The GAAs are designed to ease the transfer process to George Mason and promote the close coordination of academic courses, programs, and degrees offered by the Virginia Community College System, Richard Bland College, and George Mason.

Graduating with a qualifying transfer associate degree (AA, AS, or AA&S) before enrolling at the University allows you to:

  • Transfer up to 75 credits from community college
  • Fulfill Foundation and Exploration (lower level) Mason Core requirements, which allow you to begin your major coursework in your first semester
  • Qualify for the Virginia Two-Year College Transfer Grant for admitted students with a GPA of 3.0 or greater.

Virginia Community College System (VCCS)

Admission to George Mason is guaranteed to a student who completes an AA, AA&S, or AS transfer associate degree, has a cumulative GPA of 2.85, and meets additional admission requirements as outlined in the VCCS agreement. Guaranteed admission is to the university; students may be required to fulfill or complete additional requirements for selective admission majors.

VCCS applicants must complete ENG 111 and ENG 112 and one of the following math courses: MTH 154, 155, 157, 245, 261, 263 or 288.

Richard Bland College (RBC)

Admission to Mason is guaranteed to a student who completes an A.A., or A.S. transfer associate degree has a cumulative GPA of 2.85, and meets additional admission requirements as outlined in the RBC agreement. Guaranteed admission is to the university; students may be required to fulfill or complete additional requirements for selective admission majors.

RBC聽applicants must complete ENGL 101 and ENGL 102 and one math course from MATH 110, 200, or 217, or 251.聽 A letter of intent is no longer required.
