The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose information about campus crime activity and security policies in an annual report.
Information disseminated in accordance with听serves to inform the personal safety and college selection decisions of current and prospective campus community members. All post-secondary public and private institutions participating in federal student aid programs must adhere to Clery regulations.
Clery Act 101:
George Mason Police
- Collects crime听听and local law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction over Mason鈥檚 properties.
- Prepares and disseminates required campus safety-related information for public viewing, including:

- Emergency Notifications.
- Maintains programs designed to inform students and employees about campus security procedures and practices and the prevention of crimes.
Environmental Health and Safety
- Collects fire statistics relative to each on-campus student housing facility.
- Assists in the preparation and dissemination of campus fire safety-related information for public viewing, including:

- Emergency Notifications.
University Life
- Maintains educational programs and campaigns related to the prevention of sexual violence and drug and alcohol abuse.
- Offers confidential and non-confidential support resources for students and employees.
Campus Security Authorities
Immediately report Clery Act Crimes to George Mason Police in one of three ways:
- Calling Mason Police directly at 703-993-2810 (911 for emergencies);
