Staff Appreciation Grab and Go Ice Cream Trucks

The Staff Senate will host to kick off summer at three campus locations. Staff may register for an available time slot for pick up. This event is open to classified and non-student wage employees.

Staff may register for the location of their choosing. Ice cream will be provided by Scoops2u.Ìý

Supervisor Boot Camp

Supervisor Boot Camp is a program designed to provide essential information, resources, and contacts to supervisors. The updated, virtual format includes five three-hour sessions over 10 weeks, from 9 a.m. to noon, presented via Zoom.

Deadline Extended: Fenwick Fellow Applications

University Libraries is now accepting applications for this year's Fenwick Fellow competition. The fellowship is awarded annually to eligible Mason faculty members to support a research project that uses and enhances the Libraries' resources while advancing knowledge in their field.

Up to two Fellowships of $5,000 each may be awarded. Program guidelines include funding for an additional fellowship for a project proposal that specifically aligns with the Libraries' initiatives in the area of digital scholarship.ÌýÌý

The application deadline has been extended to Friday, June 18. The awardee(s) will be announced at the start of the fall academic term. University Libraries sponsors a public lecture by each Fenwick Fellow in the spring term following the completed fellowship.

Apply for the Emerging Leaders Supervisor Series

Apply for the third cohort of theÌý!

The series begins in September 2021 and runs until December 2022. In addition to the in-class curriculum, participants will:

  • Work with assigned workplace coaches to set goals related to their growth as a leader
  • Complete a developmental project
  • Work with peers across the university to build a network of fellow supervisors

Applicants must be Mason faculty or classified staffÌýand must supervise at least one employee who is faculty or classified staff.

Join the Staff Senate

Becoming a Staff Senator is a great way to get involved with the university community and have an impact on your workplace. The senate provides many opportunities to learn about how the university works and collaborate with administrators and staff members outside your unit.

The senate accepts nominations each June, and elections are held in July. Terms begin in August and last for two years.

Mason Kids Club Summer Camp

Mason Kids Club Summer Camp is a school-age, full summer program for rising first through fourth graders. Students may register for particular weeks or for the full summer (June 14 to August 20).

Each year, a new and exciting theme guides the interactive summer activities. The theme for summer 2021 is "STEAM, Exploration, Friends, and Fun."

Faculty/Staff Book Scholarship

Faculty and staff who are enrolled in a degree or certificate program at Mason may apply for a competitive $250 book scholarship.

Transportation Options to Campus

Faculty and staff can take advantage of several transportation options to safely travel to campus with ease and flexibility. Whether working at the Fairfax, Arlington, or SciTech campuses, ridesharing is a commuting option to consider.

Mason offers various which include complimentary parking for vanpools and rebates for carpools (conditions apply).

Vanpool participants can also utilize Mason’s subsidy, which provides up to $270/month for vanpool costs.
