University officials announced on Thursday afternoon that there are no cases whatsoever among its more than 50,000 students,聽faculty聽and staff for the first time since it began daily tracking of the coronavirus.听

Mason has long ranked聽among the聽nation鈥檚聽shining examples of聽COVID management with a daily聽聽system that helps the school closely monitor the virus鈥 spread聽to avoid any large outbreaks.听The online screening tool聽that began last fall聽must be completed seven days a week by students, faculty, staff and contractors.听
University researchers led by聽, the co-founder and co-director of Mason鈥檚聽聽within the聽, led the charge this spring to expand COVID testing to roughly 10,000聽campus community members per week.听.听
