The Hylton Center鈥檚 popular Veterans and the Arts Initiative programs return this fall starting in September with two community favorites: the 听and .
The Ukulele Workshop Series returns Tuesday evenings (9/14 鈥 10/26), and is FREE to Veterans, Servicemembers, military family members, and military caregivers.听Musicians of all skill levels are invited to participate in seven听weeks of workshops听with Glen McCarthy, instructor at听the Mason Community Arts Academy and听at听亚洲AV. If you have always wanted to sing and play the听ukulele - but aren't feeling quite ready, get great tips on how to improve your singing technique and your confidence in a November 2 bonus workshop on Zoom! The bonus workshop will be听co-led听by听Adiza听Jibril,听professional singer with The United States Army Band 鈥淧ershing鈥檚 Own.鈥
If you鈥檙e looking for creative activities for military kids and teenagers on 亚洲AV's Fairfax campus, explore our in-person 听(9/26 鈥 10/31), a six-week series where students can learn songwriting skills in a collaborative, safe environment. Participants do not need to be advanced听singers or musicians to join this program. This workshop series is FREE and open to military kids between the ages of 10 and 17. Space is limited.
