The Hylton Center has some exciting new staff changes to share! The Hylton Center鈥檚 former Director of Development, Eileen Kennedy, has been appointed 亚洲AV鈥檚 newest Associate Vice President for Development in Mason鈥檚 central advancement office, and continues to work with the Hylton Center and all of the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA). While the Hylton family is sorry to see Eileen leave her current role, we wish her all the best in her new post, and thank her for her time and tireless philanthropic efforts in leading the Hylton Center toward its vision of being the creative commons of our region.
We are pleased to announce that Emily Robinson has been named Interim Director of Development for the Hylton Center.聽Emily has worked for CVPA and the Hylton Center for the聽past ten years in increasingly significant Development roles.聽 She will lead the Development team in building philanthropic and volunteer support for the Hylton Center鈥檚 Annual Fund, as well as the Capital and Endowment Campaign. 鈥淚 am very excited to step into this role and continue to work with the incredible patrons, businesses, and foundations who support the Hylton Center and this community鈥 shared Emily. 鈥淐ommunity support and philanthropy have played a huge role in bringing the Hylton Center from a dream to reality, and in allowing our programs and performances to thrive today. I look forward to working even more closely with our donors and volunteers!鈥澛
Emily joined Mason in Summer 2011, first as an intern in the CVPA Development Office, followed by roles at the Hylton Center, including Development Assistant, Development Associate, Assistant Director of Development and, most recently, Associate Director of Development. Prior to joining Mason, Emily worked with a number of performing arts and nonprofit organizations, including Adventure Theatre, Empowered Women International, and Papermill Theatre (Lincoln, NH), as well as Bish and Haffey PC (now Burdette, Smith, and Bish LLC). Emily received a B.A. degree in Theatre and Dance from James Madison University with a minor in Nonprofit Studies, and an M.A. in Arts Management from 亚洲AV with a concentration in Public Relations and Marketing for the Arts. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive and has completed coursework in Planned Giving through the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy. Emily has served as a Staff Senator at Mason, a grants panelist with the Virginia Commission for the Arts, and is the incoming Secretary of the board of her local Association of Fundraising Professionals chapter.
