Submissions for the 50th Anniversary Time Capsule

What item best captures your Mason Nation experience? Is it a graduation photo, acceptance letter, buttons or other keepsakes from a club or organization, or even a homemade scrapbook? Ìý

Submissions are accepted for Mason’s 50th Anniversary time capsule—and any current or former students, staff, and faculty can submit an idea for consideration! Ìý

Provide information about your item through the by August 31. Items will be chosen in fall 2022.Ìý


Parking Lot Paving and Maintenance on Fairfax Campus

Parking lots around ÑÇÖÞAV's Fairfax Campus are undergoingÌýÌýthrough July 30. The following schedule is subject to change, based on weather and conditions:ÌýÌýÌý

  • July 18–26: West Campus Lot will be closed.ÌýÌýÌý
  • July 22: Police and Safety Headquarters Lot will be closed.ÌýÌýÌý
  • July 27–30: Lot L will be closed.ÌýÌýÌý

Parking and Transportation Updates and Permit Sales for Fall 2022

Fall 2022 semester parking permits are now on sale online only atÌý. Parking permits will only be sold on a per-semester basis. Semester and daily/weekly/monthly permit rates are posted on theÌý.

For all information related to fall 2022 parking permits and other transportation updates,Ìý. This includes information on how to purchase a permit, permit rates, changes to permit eligibility, short term options, and parking garage access devices.

Note: Permits will automatically renew in September for employees who pay via payroll deduction, and no action is required.

Fall Shuttle Schedules Coming Soon

Mason Parking and Transportation is putting the finishing touches on the fall 2022 shuttle schedules, which will be posted in early August at . Ìý

Note: Many routes have schedule changes from spring, including reduced service levels on Fridays. The Burke VRE shuttle is not operating until further notice, and will not operate in Fall 2022.Ìý

Apply for the Emerging Leaders Supervisor Series

Applications are now accepted for the Emerging Leaders Supervisor Series. This program supports Mason supervisors as they develop a leadership mindset, create and implement a vision for their own leadership, and lead a high-performing team. ÌýÌý

The program begins in September 2022 and runs until December 2023. This will be an in-person cohort. Applicants who work fully remotely will be considered on a case-by-case basis. ÌýÌý

Note: Applicants must be Mason faculty or classified staff and must supervise at least one faculty or classified staff employee. ÌýÌý

Patriot Green Fund

Do you have an idea for how to make your workspace, projects, or operations more sustainable? The Patriot Green Fund (PGF) can help!ÌýÌý

The PGF is a $100,000 annual fund from Mason Facilities that finances infrastructure improvements and student research efforts that reduce Mason’s environmental impact.ÌýÌý

Any current student, faculty, or staff member may apply for funds to support a sustainability project, and quick fund applications can be submitted any time.ÌýÌý

Staff have used the PGF to bring water bottle refill stations and recycling bins to campus buildings, upgrade necessary equipment for more energy-efficient alternatives, reduce the amount of waste produced, and more.

Current and retired Mason faculty andÌýstaff get exclusive access to half-price subscription tickets for the Center for the Arts’ÌýÌýseason and the Hylton Performing Arts Center’sÌýÌýseason. Choose any three or more performances (per venue) to saveÌý50 percent.Ìý

Art of Mindfulness Summer Series

Bring your inner artist and get creative at Mason Square. Art is a natural way to practice mindfulness. In this outdoor painting workshop series, you will learn the fundamental approach to channeling emotions through guided meditation while creatingÌýa personalÌý2D artwork.ÌýÌýÌý

The sessions will start with a mindful drawing warm-up followed by color mixing and painting basics. No experience required, and all are welcome to join the fun.ÌýÌý

The Kritikos Anti-Racist Reading Group will meet on Fridays this summer through August 5, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. All are welcome.ÌýÌýÌýÌý
