Sen. Kaine meets with MPP students at Schar School

U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) was the special guest for the Schar School of Policy and Government鈥檚 first Master鈥檚 of Public Policy Bistro event of the semester Sept. 12.

The informal evening social for students and faculty took place in the Fuse Pilot Space at Vernon Smith Hall at Mason Square in Arlington.听

Kaine and moderator/host Associate Professor听听talked about congressional gridlock, drama in the midterm campaigns, and the importance of voting, particularly among younger voters.听听

Kaine, who was joined by his wife, Schar School professor听, later opened the floor for questions from the MPP students in attendance.

Kaine also noted that he has hired and worked with many Schar School students and graduates in his office and on Capitol Hill and is always impressed by the quality of their work and the upward trajectories of their careers in public service.
