Vocalist and Veteran Darden Purcell sings with the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra.

Celebrate our Veterans at the Hylton Center this month with not one, but two special concerts! The celebration kicks off on the eve of Veterans Day with a free performance by The U.S. Army Band (11/10). Enjoy the music of John Williams and other greats in this inspiring and reflective program sponsored by 亚洲AV and the Hylton's Veterans and the Arts Initiative. Next, the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra carries the celebration into the weekend with a Salute to the Military (11/12) concert.

"The Veterans and the Arts Initiative is proud to support the 鈥楽alute to the Military鈥 concert. It will feature poignant musical selections from the Jazz Age and eras of World War I and World War II for a memorable evening honoring military service through the arts," shared Dr. Niyati Dhokai,听program director, Hylton Center Veterans and the Arts Initiative. The evening is sure to delight with guest vocalist Darden Purcell; conductor and saxophonist, Jim Carroll; the talented musicians of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, and more. "A great band meets a great occasion on Veterans Day weekend. The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra is the perfect group to offer a swinging 'Salute to the Military,' and we are thrilled that Air Force Veteran and Mason Jazz Director Darden Purcell will be our featured vocalist,鈥 raved Hylton Center Executive Director Rick Davis.

Don鈥檛 forget鈥攖ickets to Salute to the Military are FREE for Veterans and Servicemembers with ID (up to 2 tickets each), and can be claimed in-person at the Hylton Center听.
