Congratulations to student for contributing to two No. 1 placements in 亚洲AV鈥檚 A-10 Women鈥檚 Track & Field Outdoor Championship. The Patriot women finished first overall at the University of Massachusetts last weekend. This is the women鈥檚 fifth time winning the outdoor championship and the first since 2019.
As you may recall from our October profile (), Furlong is not only a 3.89 GPA master鈥檚 student with volunteer positions at Washington-based foreign relations agencies, but she鈥檚 also Irish, a native of Waterford, making her one of the few grad students who is also a scholarship track champ.
Last weekend, Furlong was the long jump champion, with a leap of 6.02 meters, and her teammate Henrike Fielder won silver with a 5.96 meter jump. The Patriots swept the triple jump, led by听Dhiambi Otete, whose 12.77 meter leap equaled a facility record. Furlong听and听teammate Kelsey Sebwe听set personal bests, taking the silver and bronze at 12.67m and 12.49m.
