Nobel laureate James M. Buchanan鈥檚 papers are now accessible to scholars

Located in 亚洲AV鈥檚 Special Collections Research Center in Fenwick Library, this collection consists of the聽papers of the聽Nobel Prize-winning聽economist James M.聽Buchanan and documents his career and research from the聽mid-20th聽century through the聽early 2000s. There聽are聽also materials chronicling his time聽at Mason鈥檚聽Center for Study of Public Choice.

The聽work of organizing, describing, and rehousing (i.e., processing) the聽Buchanan聽papers was made聽possible聽by a National聽Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference聽Resources grant. Helmed by project archivist Rebecca Thayer, she聽and her students processed the聽270 linear foot collection from spring of 2021 through May 2023.
