鈥淢ark has a habit of rising at every organization he joins,鈥 Perman said in a press release. 鈥淗e鈥檚 told me he intends to center the vision of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends, and invite them to imagine the future of TU together. So I鈥檓 excited to see how his collaborative leadership shapes Towson鈥檚 next chapter and accelerates achievement of the goals that all of TU holds close.鈥

Ginsberg's career spans more than 40 years as a professor, psychologist, and skilled administrator. He has published extensively in the areas of education, psychology, human development and human services. In addition, he has lectured and presented at more than 200 conferences, seminars, and other educational meetings and professional development events, both within the United States and internationally.听

In a time when higher education as a whole has struggled to recover from the impacts of COVID-19, Mason has experienced uninterrupted success,鈥 Mason President Gregory Washington said. 鈥淭hat is not by accident. Mark has been a critical member of our leadership team that has made this success story happen.鈥

Mason will conduct a national search for its next provost, with the formation of a search committee in the coming weeks. Ken Walsh, Mason vice president of strategic initiatives and chief of staff, will serve as interim provost upon Ginsberg鈥檚 departure, and special advisor Megan Healy will serve as interim chief of staff.听
