Biography
Kirstin Franko brings nearly two decades of communication strategy within the arts to the College of Visual and Performing Arts. During her 11 seasons as Director of Media Relations for Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, she spearheaded publicity efforts for the Tony Award-winning performing arts center. In her role, she was responsible for developing and executing comprehensive media strategies for more than 100 Arena Stage productions and leveraging opportunities for institutional coverage: including executive profiles, arts education initiatives, and leadership in trailblazing trends within the American theater landscape. Kirstin has also consulted with Spitzberg Advisors, a strategic advisory firm serving nonprofit organizations and leaders.
For Mason, Kirstin serves as the Associate Director of Communications and Content where she strategically influences marketing and public relations efforts for the College of Visual and Performing Arts, the Center for the Arts in Fairfax, and the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.
As a graduate of TCU's Bob Schieffer School of Journalism, Kirstin is a Texas native, but recently made a cross-country move from her home in Fairfax, Virginia to Orange County, California where she works remotely and lives with her husband and two daughters.
