Biography
Katrin B. Anacker is a Professor at George Mason鈥檚 Schar School of Policy and Government. She is the author of Housing in the United States: The Basics (Routledge, 2024). She is also the Senior Associate Editor of the聽Journal of Urban Affairs, the former Editor of聽Housing and Society, the co-editor of聽Suburbia in the 21st Century: From Dreamscape to Nightmare?聽(Routledge, 2022), the lead editor of the聽Routledge Handbook of Housing Policy and Planning聽(Routledge, 2019), the lead editor of聽Introduction to Housing聽(University of Georgia Press, 2018), and the editor of聽The New American Suburb: Poverty, Race, and the Economic Crisis聽(Ashgate, 2015). Her research interests are housing, housing and urban policy, race and public policy, real estate markets, economic demographics, statistical methods, qualitative methods, and research writing.
Dr. Anacker鈥檚 work has been published in the聽Journal of Planning Education and Research, the聽Journal of Urban Affairs,聽Housing Policy Debate,聽Housing Studies,聽the聽International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, the聽International Journal of Housing Policy,聽and Urban Geography. Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, Urban Land Institute, Center for Urban and Regional Analysis at The Ohio State University, the University of Maryland, College Park, the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College, the Long Island Community Foundation, Lambda Alpha International, and the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy.
