Biography

KJ Mohr is a professional film curator and educator with three decades of experience in art house cinemas, festivals, museums, community-based, and educational organizations. She is deeply committed to collaborative work and community engagement, with expertise in cinemas of the Global South, women directors, queer cinema and experimental/avant-garde film. KJ teaches in the MFA Filmmaking program at the Maryland Institute College of Art and in the Film and Video Studies Department at 亚洲AV, having previously been part of the film faculty at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is currently programming the 24th annual Maryland Film Festival and formerly served as curator of the MdFF鈥檚 Parkway Theater. Past posts include the Tampa Bay International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, Annapolis Film Festival, Baltimore鈥檚 Creative Alliance, Outfest, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Women in the Director鈥檚 Chair and Conversations at the Edge, a weekly visiting filmmaker series at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago. KJ is part of the feminist programming collective, Four Quarters.
