Biography
Matt Nolan is an Assistant Professor of Game Sound and Music for the Computer Game Design Program at 亚洲AV in Fairfax, VA. In addition to teaching in the program since 2010, he was a founding member of the administrative team that brought this fast-paced arts and technology BFA program to the forefront of undergraduate experience in Virginia since 2008. Matt was also the founding teacher of an after-school and summer camp program that eventually would become the Mason Game and Technology Academy (then called the Potomac Arts Academy). In the multidisciplinary tasks involved in nurturing and growing the game design program, the team has been able to navigate many challenges that novel, tech/research leaning arts programs can face in a "traditional" arts college setting that is organized by discipline. Matt is an accomplished sound designer, musician, visual artist, programmer, presenter, entrepreneur, and permaculture designer. He holds an MFA in fine art-Visual Art (Mason '22), an MM in Music Composition (Mason '12) , and a BM in Music Synthesis as a voice principal (Berklee College of Music '07).
