Prof. Sidhartha (Sid) Das is a teaching and research faculty member in the Information Systems and Operations Management Area at the Costello College of Business, ����AV.

Prof. Das has taught in the MBA, Executive MBA, Northrop Grumman MBA, MS in Technology Management, and the undergraduate business programs. These include courses in operations management, managerial statistics, project management, business logistics, management of service operations, and manufacturing planning and control systems. He has received awards for Teaching Excellence at Mason and other universities.

His current research interests are primarily in Technology and Innovation Strategies, Planning and Control of Operations, Management of Service Operations, MIS - Design, Planning and Strategic Issues, and Entrepreneurship Processes in Technology Services Organizations.

His papers have appeared in refereed journals including the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Journal of the Operations Research Society, Long Range Planning, International Journal of Distribution & Logistics Management, International Journal of Technology Management, Production and Inventory Management, Industrial Management and Data Systems, and in several conference proceedings.

In addition, Prof. Das has presented research papers at conferences and meetings of the Decision Sciences Institute, Production and Operations Management Society, The Institute of Management Science, Mason Entrepreneurship Research Center, and the Washington Operations Research and Management Science Council.

He has extensive training and consulting experience with Perot Systems, SWIFT, INOVA Healthcare, and the USGS. Prof. Das received his PhD and MBA in Business Administration from the University of Houston, and also has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering

• Presented the paper titled, “Effect of Cloud Computing on IT performance” at the DSI Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington in 2015 (with coauthors Cem Canel and Basheer Khumawala).
• Published an article titled, “Risk, Process Maturity, and Project Performance: An Empirical Analysis of US Federal Government Technology Projects,” (with colleagues Anant Mishra and James Murray) in Production & Operations Management in 2016.
• Presented the paper titled, “Innovation Within and Across Borders” at the Decision Sciences Institute Conference in Tampa, Florida in 2014. 
• Published an article titled, “Antecedents of Innovativeness in Technology-Based Services (TBS): Peering into the Black Box of Entrepreneurial Orientation,” (coauthored with Mahesh Joshi and Nacef Mouri) in Decision Sciences in 2015.
• Published an article titled, “Managing Risks in Federal Government Information Technology Projects: Does Process Maturity Matter?” in Production & Operations Management in 2014 (with colleagues Anant Mishra and James Murray).
• Received a Research Award for his work for conducting rigorous applied research that is relevant and innovative from the Production & Operations Management Society in May 2014.
• Was also nominated for a Research Award from the Eastern Academy of Management Conference in May 2014.
• Presented the paper titled, “Does Process Maturity Mitigate Risk? An Empirical Analysis of Federal Information Technology Projects” (with Anant Mishra) at the INFORMS Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2013. 
• Had the presentation titled “Technology Orientation and Product Innovativeness in Technology Services Firms” published in the proceedings from the American Marketing Association (AMA) Marketing Educators' Conference in 2012. The paper also won “Best Paper Award” at the conference (with coauthors Mahesh Joshi and Nacef Mouri). 
• Had the presentation titled “Proactiveness and Innovativeness in Service Firms: Too Much of a Good Thing?” published in the proceedings from the AMA Summer Marketing Educators' Conference in 2013 (with coauthors Mahesh Joshi and Nacef Mouri).
