Biography

Prof. Sidhartha (Sid) Das is a teaching and research faculty member in the Information Systems and Operations Management聽Area at the Costello College of Business, 亚洲AV.

Prof. Das has taught in the MBA, Executive MBA, Northrop Grumman MBA, MS in Technology Management, and the undergraduate business programs. These include courses in operations management, managerial statistics, project management, business logistics, management of service operations, and manufacturing planning and control systems.聽He has received awards for Teaching Excellence at Mason and other universities.

His current research interests are primarily in Technology and Innovation Strategies, Planning and Control of Operations, Management of Service Operations, MIS - Design, Planning and Strategic Issues, and Entrepreneurship Processes in Technology Services Organizations.

His papers have appeared in refereed journals including the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Journal of the Operations Research Society, Long Range Planning, International Journal of Distribution & Logistics Management, International Journal of Technology Management, Production and Inventory Management, Industrial Management and Data Systems, and in several conference proceedings.

In addition, Prof. Das has presented research papers at conferences and meetings of the Decision Sciences Institute, Production and Operations Management Society, The Institute of Management Science, Mason Entrepreneurship Research Center, and the Washington Operations Research and Management Science Council.

He has extensive training and consulting experience with Perot Systems, SWIFT, INOVA Healthcare, and the USGS. Prof. Das received his PhD and MBA in Business Administration from the University of Houston, and also has a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering

  • Published an article titled, 鈥淢anaging Risks in Federal Government Information Technology Projects: Does Process Maturity Matter?鈥 in Production & Operations Management in 2014 (with colleagues聽Anant Mishra聽and James Murray).
  • Received a Research Award for his work for conducting rigorous applied research that is relevant and innovative from the Production & Operations Management Society in May 2014.
  • Was also nominated for a Research Award from the Eastern Academy of Management Conference in May 2014.
  • Presented the paper titled, 鈥淒oes Process Maturity Mitigate Risk? An Empirical Analysis of Federal Information Technology Projects鈥 (with Anant Mishra) at the INFORMS Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2013.聽
  • Had the presentation titled 鈥淭echnology Orientation and Product Innovativeness in Technology Services Firms鈥 published in the proceedings from the American Marketing Association (AMA) Marketing Educators' Conference in 2012. The paper also won 鈥淏est Paper Award鈥 at the conference聽(with coauthors Mahesh Joshi and Nacef Mouri).聽
