Biography

Steve Pilloff is a term associate聽professor of finance with the Costello College of Business at 亚洲AV.听He has taught courses on firm valuation, equity research, financial institutions, and corporate financial management.听He is frequently quoted on personal finance issues by national outlets like Forbes, U.S. News, The Today Show, and Fox Business.

Dr. Pilloff earned a Ph.D. in finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995.听He subsequently worked at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, where he conducted research on competition and consolidation in the banking industry. Before joining the faculty at 亚洲AV, Dr. Pilloff taught at Hood College and聽the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. 聽

The strength of Dr. Pilloff鈥檚 teaching has been repeatedly recognized by students, colleagues, and the university.听He received the School of Business Undergraduate Teaching Award in 2014 and has served as a Dean's Teaching Faculty Fellow since 2017.

Dr. Pilloff's work has been published in various journals including聽Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, Journal of Banking and Finance,听Journal of Competition Law and Economics,听Multinational Finance Journal,听Review of Industrial Organization, Journal of Financial Services Research, Antitrust Bulletin, Journal of Business Cases & Applications, and Journal of Financial Education. In addition, he has contributed chapters to Bank Mergers and Acquisitions and to three editions of The Structure of American Industry.听
