ÑÇÖÞAV

Debbie Cohen started working in ÑÇÖÞAV’s Office of University Advancement and Alumni Relations in fall 2023. Before coming to George Mason, she worked in another realm of education: as a middle school teacher. Her passion for education fueled her involvement with another activity outside work: Cohen serves as a volunteer mentor with College Bound, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit serving public and charter school students in grades 8–12.

ÑÇÖÞAV students, faculty, staff, and alumni gathered on Wednesday, Sept. 11, for the 12th annual Mason Nation 9/11 Day of Service.

Carissa O’Neill works at ÑÇÖÞAV as an office assistant in University Life. Outside the office, O’Neill volunteers at The JK Community Farm in Purcellville, Virginia—a 150-acre working farm that donates 100% of its produce to local food pantries.

As an Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance manager in ÑÇÖÞAV’s Office of Research Integrity and Assurance, Kim Paul ensures that research projects involving human subjects comply with all regulations. Outside of work, one of her hobbies revolves around nonhuman subjects: dogs eligible for adoption.

Liza Wilson Durant wears many hats at ÑÇÖÞAV. Outside her work at Mason, though, Wilson Durant makes a different impact on her community as an emergency medical technician (EMT).

As the student enrichment coordinator in ÑÇÖÞAV’s College of Education and Human Development, Caroline Masakayan helps organize a variety of student activities. She also supports student organizations and the college’s two learning communities. Outside of work, Masakayan volunteers as a court-appointed special advocate (CASA), helping children experiencing tough living situations, abuse, and neglect.

Amanda Snellings is the assistant director of development at Mason's College of Visual and Performing Arts, but when she's off the clock, she is also the artistic director of City of Fairfax Theatre Company.

Micah Hodges works as a success coach in University Life at ÑÇÖÞAV. In this role, Hodges works one-on-one with students to help them discover what success looks like to them. Outside of work, Hodges helps sustain and develop something else: our local environment and community spaces. As a volunteer with NOVA and District Cleanups, Hodges works alongside cadres of volunteers who remove trash from public spaces.

Pam Promisel works in the University Business Consulting office at ÑÇÖÞAV. Outside of work, she views the world from a different vantage point: horseback. As a Mounted Patrol volunteer with the National Park Service, Pam serves in a unique role at Manassas National Battlefield Park.
