From being an orientation leader to working as an environmental field interpreter for school programs, Jason Mercado made the most of his time at Mason by building up the campus community.

With his master’s degree in global commerce and policy, Carter N. Coudriet aims to pursue a position at the Arctic-focused nexus of trade and national security.

ÑÇÖÞAV will celebrate more than 5,000 students graduating or earning certificates in the Winter Commencement ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at EagleBank Arena.

Dulcee Valenzuela, a December 2023 grad with a degree in bioengineering, said her cancer diagnosis as a teenager helped her find her life's purpose and a career path.

Inspired by her parents who immigrated from Mexico in search of a better life for their children, Ashley Alvarado-Lopez is following the path her older sister by graduating in winter 2023 with two degrees from Mason.

Lydia Sigman grabbed every Schar School opportunity to position herself for a career in government.

Paul E. Misener, a scientist, lawyer, engineer and innovator will be the featured speaker at ÑÇÖÞAV’s 2023 Winter Commencement ceremony. The ceremony will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.

One May 24, 27 Mason EIP graduates joined the ranks of Mason alumni this year, along with 130 graduating high school seniors celebrating their EIP graduation, as part of EIP’s 32nd graduating class. More than 2,100 students have graduated from EIP since it began in 1987.

Honors College student Noel Quezada came to Mason through the Early Identification Program and credits EIP with much of his success.

Samantha Harrison, who graduated this spring with a bachelor’s degree in community health with a global health concentration, says that discovering the community health degree provided her with a comprehensive way to achieve her ambitions to bring equity to communities through well-being. 

Neuroscience major Sarah Hunter chose ÑÇÖÞAV not only because she knew it was a prestigious school, but because she felt a sense of calm when she toured the campus.

In congratulating the largest public university graduating class in state history, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Mason President Gregory Washington shared a message of renewal and growth at Mason’s Spring Commencement on Thursday, May 18.
