Gurdip Singh is the divisional dean of ����AV’s new School of Computing and a professor in the College of Engineering and Computing. He officially joined Mason on August 1, he is currently on assignment to the National Science Foundation. He will join Mason full-time in January 2023.

Mason's five-year plan, titled “Mason Is All Together Different,” received BOV approval at the governing body’s Dec. 1 meeting. The plan identifies five broad priorities, with specific strategies and actions for each.

In late September, 18 undergraduates from the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation‘s (SMSC) Wildlife Ecology and Conservation program tagged monarch butterflies on their journey south to help researchers better understand their grand migration.

It has been busy year at the Mason Innovation Exchange (MIX). Since the ����AV makerspace opened in its new space in Horizon Hall in September 2021, it has seen a lot of traffic—more than 9,000 visitors in spring 2022—and has some successes to report.

����AV’s Business for a Better World Center (B4BW) recently convened an in-person Stakeholder Roundtable on the subject of Corporate Governance. The half-day event took place at Point of View International Retreat & Research Center at Mason Neck in Lorton, VA on October 21.
