Through a grant from Arts Fairfax, ����AV students and faculty are helping youth in the Fairfax Detention Center express themselves through poetry.

Ashanti Mumin joined ����AV Police and Public Safety in February 2022. He worked for the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office for four years and has a background in responding to mental health crises.

Liza Burrell-Aldana, MEd Education Leadership ’13, joins a legacy of Mason alumni honored for their exceptional leadership in school administration.

Mason’s 2023 Green Game was held on January 25, 2023, when the women’s basketball team competed against the University of Rhode Island at EagleBank Arena with 868 fans in attendance.

Jeffery W. Keller, Mason alum and high school history teacher, is currently pursuing his PhD in education and is the 2024 Virginia Teacher of the Year.

Green isn’t just a school color at ����AV. At Mason, “green” is way of life, and sustainability is central to the university’s mission.

Whether it is pressing deadlines, overwork, or employees feeling they are not being supported, anger in a work environment can be unavoidable. Over time, the anger and frustration can compound, causing anger to spread through the entire team or organization, creating what ����AV expert Mandy O’Neill calls a “culture of anger.”

Fifteen teams competed for $40K in prizes at the ����AV School of Business Patriot Pitch Competition during the in-person April 13 event on Mason’s Fairfax Campus.

At a time when policing in the United States is facing major challenges, Mason’s Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy is beginning a first-of-its-kind multi-method longitudinal study of a cohort of police officers to understand how officers progress through their law enforcement careers.

University Sustainability and the Greenhouse and Garden’s Program are contributing to Mason's efforts to eradicate food insecurity by providing access to campus-grown fruits and vegetables.
